Trio crashes car on NYS parkway after attempting to rob upstate Walgreens: report

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Three alleged robbers crashed in their car on a New York State parkway after trying to rob an upstate Walgreens Tuesday morning, NBC 4 reported.

Around 11 a.m., the trio attempted to rob the Walgreens on Freedom Plains Road in Poughkeepsie, authorities said.

It was not immediately clear whether property was taken from the Walgreens during the robbery though no weapons were reportedly used.

While driving on the Taconic State Parkway later on, the three men tried to exit at Pudding Street in Carmel at a speed of over 100 mph, when they crashed, officials told NBC 4.

One of the suspects was arrested at the scene while the other two fled into a nearby woods.
