NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A Westchester County grand jury began to hear evidence against New York real estate heir, now-convicted murder Robert Durst in the disappearance and killing of his ex-wife Kathie.

The Journal News reports the grand jury was empaneled last week and started to hear witness testimony, with a reporter observing a witness enter the room Monday morning.
Durst, 78, was sentenced last week in Los Angeles for the 2000 murder of his best friend Susan Berman. He has since been hospitalized and placed on a ventilator after testing positive for COVID-19.
Kathie Durst went missing on Jan. 31, 1982, and although her body has never been found — she was declared legally dead in 2017.
Durst claims the 29-year-old disappeared after he dropped her off at a train station and spoke to her by phone.
However, in the 2015 HBO documentary "The Jinx: The Life and Deaths of Robert Durst," he admitted he made up the phone call and appeared to admit he killed people.
First Lady Jill Biden's ex-husband, Bill Stevenson, could be the "star witness" in front of the grand jury.
Stevenson, a Delaware businessman, allegedly had an extramarital affair with Hurst before her disappearance.
A week before she went missing, Stevenson claimed Durst "barged" into his apartment and threatened her.
