HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. (1010 WINS) — Authorities are investigating after a woman's body was found fatally stabbed in the basement of a home on Long Island over the weekend.
According to detectives, at 8:39 p.m. on Oct. 5, officers responded to a 911 call at a Botsford Street residence in Hempstead.
Upon arrival, officers located a 29-year-old woman in the basement of the home with multiple stab wounds.
She was pronounced dead at the scene. Police have not released her identity.
The investigation remains ongoing.
