GARFIELD, N.J. (1010 WINS) -- A former New Jersey middle school teacher was arrested Friday for sexually assaulting one of her students, according to Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella.
Amy Dovidio, 46, was charged with first-degree aggravated sexual assault, second-degree sexual assault, second-degree endangering, and third and fourth-degree aggravated criminal sexual contact.
On Feb. 10, the Garfield Police Department responded to a report that a teacher had engaged in sexual conduct with a student at Garfield Middle School.
An investigation revealed that Dovidio had engaged in sexual conduct with a a student who was between the ages of 13 and 17 on school grounds, Musella said.
Bergen County Prosecutor's Office also confirmed that sexual conduct happened in at a private residence in Cedar Grove and inside a car at locations in Bergen, Essex and Passaic counties.
Dovidio, who is no longer working at the school, will appear in court at a later date.
