NEW YORK (BLOOMBERG) -- Former Governor Andrew Cuomo purchased a roughly seven-acre estate on the south shore of Long Island for $9.6 million, according to a spokesperson and property records.

The deal included four parcels of land and two buildings, including a nine-bedroom waterfront main residence. The sale closed in June, according to Multiple Listing Service records, with the property acquired through a limited liability company. Cuomo spokesperson Rich Azzopardi confirmed the purchase.

Cuomo, who resigned as governor in 2021, lost the 2025 New York City mayoral election to Zohran Mamdani. At the time, he lived in a rented apartment and listed income of $500,000 or more for consulting work. He has since taken on roles in the cryptocurrency industry, joining the board of exchange OKX and co-chairing a joint venture between the company and New York Stock Exchange parent Intercontinental Exchange focused on digital finance.

Azzopardi said Cuomo will keep his New York City apartment. The Hamptons property will allow the former governor to spend more time with siblings who also have homes in the area, including broadcaster Chris Cuomo, he said.

The deal was earlier reported by Politico.
