The oceanfront, 3,000-square-foot mansion was originally listed for $21 million in 2018, and the price was reduced to about $20 million when it didn’t sell. The price further dropped to almost $18 million in 2019, but now the 1.5-acre estate is more expensive than ever at $22.5 million, the New York Post reported.

Roth, 81, is the chairman of the largest landlord group in the city, Vornado Realty Trust.

He bought the home for almost $9.5 million in 2009 from United States Marshals who in turn confiscated it from the notorious fraudster.

The proceeds from the sale went toward paying back the almost $65 billion Madoff made off his infamous Ponzi scheme.
