In a short interview with TMZ, Ocasio-Cortez classified the comments as a learning moment and referenced Monday’s episode of “The View” which featured Jonathan Greenblatt, CEO of the Anti-Defamation League, whose mission is to stop the defamation of Jewish people and “secure justice and fair treatment to all.”

“I think we really kind of take the Jewish community’s lead on this and they see that her apology was authentic and want to move on and heal,” Ocasio-Cortez said in the video.

On Monday, Goldberg faced criticism for her comments on “The View” when she said race was not a factor in the Holocaust.

Goldberg later publicly apologized for the comments, saying she was “deeply, deeply regretful” and was getting education on the topic.

Despite her attempt to rectify the situation, Kim Godwin, president of ABC, announced on Tuesday that Goldberg would serve a two-week suspension effectively immediately, a decision that has also caused criticism.
