NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The big winter storm moved out of the Tri-State on Monday morning, but there’s a week of brutally cold weather ahead for the New York City area.

The storm dropped anywhere from 8 to 12 inches across the city, including in Central Park, where 11.4 inches was measured, the National Weather Service said.

Flight disruptions continued at area airports Monday, with over 1,200 flights canceled. On Sunday, more than 3,000 flights were scrapped and LaGuardia Airport temporarily shut down.

As the city continued to dig out of the snow on Monday, subfreezing temps had already taken hold. Gov. Kathy Hochul told 1010 WINS the “Arctic siege” will last for more than a week.

"This Arctic siege on our state is unrelenting and will continue for the next nine days," Gov. Kathy Hochul told 1010 WINS on Sunday evening.

"There will not be a single part of New York that goes above freezing temperature for nine days," the governor said. "And that's what we have to anticipate, prepare for."

Monday’s high will be 28 degrees with RealFeel temps in the teens. The low will be 12 on Monday night with RealFeels at zero.

It’ll be even colder the rest of the week, with highs of about 20 on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and this weekend.
