NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – The New York City area will experience days of unseasonably warm weather in the week ahead, with temps reaching the mid-50s by the weekend, according to AccuWeather.

The burst of springlike conditions will come a week after Punxsutawney Phil and Staten Island Chuck made their Groundhog Day predictions of an early spring.

While Tuesday will still be cold with RealFeels in the 30s, highs will reach 47 degrees by Wednesday, 50 by Thursday and 52 by Friday.

Saturday's high is forecast to be 56, with a mix of sun and clouds giving way to an afternoon shower.

Sunday's high will be around 53 under partly sunny skies.

However, there's still well over a month left of winter, and next week will see the return of more seasonable temps for February, mostly in the 30s.

While Monday's high of 47 will still be above the February average high of 40, temps will return to the 30s by week's end.
