NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The first notable snowfall of the season is in the forecast for New York City this weekend, with 1 to 3 inches of accumulation expected in the boroughs.

In the meantime, bone-chilling cold continues. A Wind Advisory is in effect Thursday for all of NYC, with wind gusts up to 50 mph pushing wind chills into the teens. The high is 36 degrees.

The cold is expected to continue Friday, with another high of 36 and wind chills down to the teens.

The snow will likely arrive in the city Saturday night into Sunday morning, according to AccuWeather.

The most likely accumulation is 1 to 3 inches, but the amount could shift based on the track of the storm, which will cut across the Northeast.

While temps will warm slightly over the weekend, another round of cold is in the forecast for Sunday and Monday, with highs barely reaching the low 30s both days.
