NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Rain and chilly weather are on tap for New York City on Thursday, with some periods of heavy showers possible.
Thursday afternoon is expected to be cloudy and colder than earlier this week, with a high of 57 degrees and periods of rain, according to AccuWeather.
Some of the rain that falls on the city may be heavy.
Connecticut and eastern Long Island could see anywhere from 1.5 to 2.5 inches of rain, the National Weather Service notes.
Thursday night is slated to see some leftover rain that will taper to a drizzle, with a low of 41 degrees.
Friday should be cloudy, slightly windy and chilly again, with a bit of rain and a high of 54 degrees.
The sun is expected to return on Saturday, with a high near 60 degrees.
