
NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – A storm will drench the Tri-State area on Saturday with 2 to 3 inches of rain, according to AccuWeather.
The National Weather Service issued a Flood Watch for the entire Tri-State area, including all five boroughs, on Saturday.

New York City’s Flood Watch will be in effect from 8 a.m. Saturday until 2 a.m. Sunday. The heaviest rain is expected between 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Saturday, with localized flooding possible, NYC Emergency Management said.
A Wind Advisory is also in effect in the city from 2 p.m. on Saturday until 2 a.m. on Sunday. Officials predict 15-25 mph winds, with gusts reaching 45 to 50 mph.
The rain caused morning travel delays out of NYC-area airports. As of 12 p.m. Saturday, LaGuardia Airport, John F. Kennedy Airport and Newark Liberty International Airport each had at least a dozen flight cancellations and more delays.
JFK is experiencing departure delays of one hour and increasing, with 164 flights delayed as of 12 p.m. Newark had 118 delays, while LaGuardia had 69.
Saturday’s storm will be heavy at times, with areas of flooding and difficulty traveling. The precipitation will end quickly come evening, with rain totals reaching 2 to 3 inches, AccuWeather said.

As Saturday evening dries out, the temperature is expected to drop to a low of 31, a significant dip from the daytime high of 53. Winds are expected, and flooding issues will continue through the night, AccuWeather said.
Sunday will remain windy and chilly but sunny. It will remain cold with RealFeel temps in the 30s, despite a high of 48.
Following the weekend storm, the work week will begin with a partly cloudy, sunny and breezy Monday with the high reaching 54.
Tuesday will usher in variable clouds amid a high of 51. Drizzle is possible on Long Island.
