
NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Friday's high temperature in Central Park broke a record set nearly 100 years ago.
The temperature surged to 80 degrees in Central Park by 2 p.m., according to the National Weather Service. The high was expected to reach 81 degrees.
Central Park's record high for March 26 was 76 degrees, set back in 1922.
It's not only warm but windy on Friday. A wind advisory has been issued for all five boroughs from 2 p.m. to midnight.
Wind gusts could top 50 mph in the afternoon and evening, according to AccuWeather.
Winds gradually subside Friday night. The low will drop to 48.
It’s sunny and nice on Saturday with a high of 66.
Rain returns Sunday, when it will also be breezy with a high of 58.
