NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Rounds of rain are in the forecast Tuesday for much of the New York City area—and a heavy thunderstorm may bring gusty winds and even hail, according to AccuWeather.

Anywhere from 0.5 inches to 1.5 inches of rain has pelted the Tri-State over the last couple of days, and the wet weather will pop up most of the workweek.

Tuesday started cloudy with a couple of downpours. A line of storms packing rain and thunder are expected to move through in the afternoon and evening. The high will be 65 degrees.

The storms may cause localized flooding, as well as a threat of damaging winds and small hail, before moving out late Tuesday.

There may be a stray morning shower Wednesday, but the clouds will break for sunshine by afternoon. The high will be 72.

Friday will be rainy, breezy and much cooler, with a high of 60. The rain could lead to ponding on roadways.
