NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Last week’s brutal cold has moved out—and temps are set to soar towards 60 degrees on Tuesday before the chilly weather returns for the weekend.

Lows bottomed out in the 20s last week in Central Park, with wind chills down in the teens. There was even snow Sunday night in North Jersey and the Hudson Valley.

But highs were already marching upwards to 49 degrees in the city on Tuesday amid cloudy and rainy conditions, according to AccuWeather.

Temps will warm to the 50s overnight and should hit 59 by Tuesday afternoon—three degrees short of the record high of 62, set on Dec. 17, 2000.

The mild Tuesday will otherwise be breezy and sunny—fairly pleasant for mid-December.
