NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A thunderstorm moved into New York City Monday night bringing heavy rain and strong winds, with additional storms possible Wednesday through Friday.
Steady rain and wind gusts in excess of 40 mph are expected through 10:45 p.m, according to the National Weather Service. The NWS issued a special weather statement warning of the strong wings and rain through 10:45 p.m.
The humidity, clouds and haziness will linger Tuesday, with a high near 80 degrees and a stray afternoon shower possible.

Wednesday is set to be partly sunny, very warm and humid, with a high of 86 degrees. A thunderstorm is possible late in the afternoon or evening.

Thursday and Friday will both see highs near 80 degrees, with showers and a thunderstorm likely on both days.

The weekend is expected to be rain- and storm-free, AccuWeather says.
