NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – The wet and windy weekend storm was moving out of the New York City area Monday morning, but pockets of rain, residual flooding and even some wet snow are expected before conditions dry out in the afternoon, according to AccuWeather.

The sweeping storm has dropped 2 to 2.5 inches of rain across much of the area since Sunday, sparking flood alerts and travel advisories for a swath of the Tri-State. Gusts reached about 45 mph in the city.

NYC's flood watch ended by Monday morning, but rain continued to pour down after sunrise, complicating morning commutes.

The precipitation is expected to wrap up mid-morning as a brief burst of wet snow. While the city will just see flakes, areas to the north and west could get a slushy coating on grassy areas.

Clouds will then break for some sun in the afternoon on an otherwise chilly Monday, with a high of about 43 degrees in Central Park. RealFeels will stick to the 30s in the five boroughs and could flirt with the upper 20s overnight.

After the rain passes, conditions will stay dry for the foreseeable future, with mostly sunny skies in the forecast for Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Highs will be in the 40s most of the workweek, ending in a high of 50 on Friday.

The weekend is also looking quiet—temps will moderate to the low 50s under party cloudy skies.
