
ST. JAMES, N.Y. (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) -- Multiple fights broke out during a large wedding on Long Island Monday evening, leading to an officer being bitten as cops tried to break up the fracas, Suffolk County police said.
The chaos unfolded around 7:45 p.m. at Flowerfield Celebrations on Mills Pond Road in St. James.

Officers from three Suffolk police precincts, as well as the canine unit and EMS, responded to the wedding, as did Smithtown park rangers and harbor police officers.
As cops were breaking up a fight and "restoring order," a man bit an officer on the arm and shoved a second officer, police said.
The suspect, Justize Murphy, 22, of Long Island, was arrested and charged with second-degree assault.
Another man, Qeywon Wilson, was charged with obstructing governmental administration for allegedly stopping an officer who was breaking up the fighting.
It wasn't immediately clear if any of the guests were seriously injured in the fighting.
