NEW HAVEN, Conn. (1010 WINS) — A Connecticut woman was arrested earlier this week for allegedly using Instagram to organize several street takeovers throughout the state, police said Friday.
New Haven police arrested Kimberly Hueffman, 47, on Tuesday after she allegedly used the account "Finnalwarrning" to announce and organize the takeovers.
Hueffman was charged with inciting a riot.
The takeovers caused major disruptions, blocked public roadways and created dangerous situations for residents, pedestrians, and those involved, police said.
"Street takeovers are illegal and unsafe for participants, the public and responding officers. We are not going to tolerate this behavior. We will continue to aggressively disrupt them as they are happening by using stop sticks to deflate tires of vehicles, arrest participants and spectators," New Haven Police Chief Karl Jacobson said in a statement.
"Even if you think you got away, we will make arrests by warrant for anyone we can identify," he added.
