
NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – A woman was attacked inside a Princeton University library on Monday, according to the university’s Department of Public Safety.
Police were notified by the victim, a woman who is neither a student nor staff at the university, that she had been a victim of aggravated assault.
The attack happened at around 12:30 p.m. while the victim was working in a room on the fourth floor of Lewis Library when an unidentified man opened the door and asked for help, according to a press release by DPS.
The suspect, described as 25-30 years old, with a brown sweatshirt, brown pants, black backpack, and dark-colored hair, then approached the victim, grabbed her by the neck, and pushed her against a wall. She screamed and ran out of the room before seeking help and calling DPS.
The suspect did not follow her.
DPS encouraged the community to call them at (609) 258-1000 if they encounter similar behavior or have information relevant to the investigation.
