Plus-one for knowing the team names, but minus a few for not knowing a game between the two could never be more than a dream matchup.
Early in the second quarter of Sunday’s Giants-Panthers game, the Giants recorded a safety to make it 3-2. After the ensuing free kick, FOX play-by-play announcer Adam Amin noted “we have a baseball score here, like the Charlotte Knights vs. the Trenton Thunder.”

So Amin gets the points for knowing those are two minor-league baseball teams related to the home markets of the Giants and Panthers, but there’s just one problem: the Knights, the Triple-A affiliate of the Chicago White Sox, wouldn’t have ever played the Thunder, who were the Yankees’ Double-A affiliate through the 2020 season.
The Thunder are now part of the MLB Draft League, which runs later in the summer and features collegiate prospects, but their home stadium, ARM & HAMMER Park, did see affiliated ball for part of the season; Trenton was the temporary home of the Buffalo Bisons, the Triple-A affiliate of the Blue Jays, who played in New Jersey's capital while their parent club played at Sahlen Field in Buffalo.
Still, points for effort for Amin, who is no stranger to calling professional baseball at various level; he broadcast for two different Midwest independent teams while in college at Valparaiso – and actually called Somerset Patriots games in 2010 and 2011 when they were in the Atlantic League – and has done MLB games for ESPN and FOX during his career.

And, as Amin noted, after the Giants kicked a field goal/the Thunder hit a three-run homer to make it 5-3 New York, there has never been an NFL game that ended with that score, so he only needed another three-ish quarters of shutout ball for Scorigami!
