When the Islanders take the ice for their preseason game against the Flyers on Tuesday night, they will finally have their captain back in the fold.
The team confirmed on Tuesday morning that Anders Lee, out since March after suffering a torn ACL, will be in Tuesday’s lineup, which will be his first game action since suffering the injury. Head coach Barry Trotz told reporters that Lee will be on a line with Mathew Barzal and Kyle Palmieri.

Lee was back on the ice last week at New York’s training camp, a welcomed sight after his absence was felt during last season’s playoff run, which fell one win short of a Stanley Cup berth. In 27 games last season, Lee tallied 12 goals and seven assists and was a +11 on the year. He has spent his entire NHL career with the Islanders, and looks to be heading into his 10th campaign healthy and with no restrictions.
