The Rangers and Astros will meet in Houston on Monday night for game seven of the ALCS, and getting the ball for Texas, with a World Series berth on the line, will be none other than Max Scherzer.

Gio likely will place another bet on the Astros, as he did the last time Scherzer took the mound in this series, but he admittedly is feeling nervous that his nemesis just might step up and lead his new team to the Fall Classic.

“I’m a little concerned, to be honest with you,” Gio said. “It worked out so perfectly last time. Is it really gonna work out that perfectly again?

“I don’t think he’s going to pitch well. I’ve just been burned so many rimes by sports…man, if he pitches great, that would be terrible. It really would. To see him celebrate and actually have something to do with it.”

Scherzer was knocked around in his playoff debut in his last start, and Boomer seems a lot more confident than Gio that Scherzer is heading for another dud.

“He’s gonna get slammed around,” Boomer said. “You know that. He has been awful in every single one of these games over the last four years.”
