Braxton Berrios had the highlight of the Jets win over the Jaguars in Week 16 in the form of a 102-yard kickoff return for a touchdown, and now he has a keepsake for the big play.
Berrios was announced as the AFC’s Special Teams Player of the Week on Wednesday, logging three kick returns for a total of 138 yards and a punt return for 12 yards and, of course, the big touchdown which gave Gang Green the lead in the second quarter.
Berrios’ 30.7 yards per kick return is the best in the NFL, and his efforts helped him land a spot on the 2022 Pro Bowl team as a first alternate. He now has another accolade from the 2021-22 season in the form of Wednesday’s award.
