The Mets still have time to figure out their looming catcher logjam, but BT says it would be absolute "lunacy" for the team to even consider sending down Francisco Alvarez.
"Out of your mind!" BT said. "If they ever send him down to keep [Gary] Sanchez around, or [Tomas] Nido, who can't hit a lick…if they ever send him down for those two guys, they deserve to lose every game for the rest of their existence.
"Are they out of their minds for even thinking about that?"
Tiki noted that Alvarez, despite leading all catchers in most offensive categories over the past two weeks, is the only one of the team's catchers with minor league options remaining, but BT doesn't want to hear that as a potential reasoning for a demotion.
"So what?" BT said.
