The Mets have reportedly lost out on Carlos Correa following concerns over his surgically-repaired right leg, and the team could now look elsewhere to upgrade at third base, or run it back with Eduardo Escobar.
But BT has another option that Yankees fans would likely be all for.

“Hear me out,” BT said. “Josh Donaldson to the Mets.”
Then, once Tiki was done laughing, BT continued.
“Hold on. Before you laugh…from a Mets point of view, if you think you have a real chance to land Machado this year, which they will, because they will come with the Brinks truck, and Machado is healthier than Correa, and he’s better,” BT said.
“Forget about [Aaron] Boone propping him up as Graig Nettles, Mike Schmidt third baseman at this point with his Platinum Glove. That aside, he can still pick it at third base.”
Donaldson was a shell of himself offensively last season, and even worse during the postseason, but he was still an elite defender at the hot corner. Still, the Mets have Escobar under contract, whose offensive numbers were on par with the aging Donaldson’s last season. But BT says Donaldson could be the stopgap the Mets need before making a much bigger move.
“With veteran pitching, and as a one-year rental, as a one-year bridge to a player who is a top-15 player in Manny Machado,” BT said. “I know it sounds terrible, but I don’t think it’s the worst thing in the world if Donaldson played third base for the Mets for a year, in case [Brett] Baty is not ready.”
What does Tiki think the response would be from the Yankees?
“I could see Brian Cashman saying, ‘No charge,’” Tiki said. “’This one’s on me.’”
