With just 10 games to go in the regular season, Julius Randle is still only taking contact via pads and practicing on his own as he makes his way back from a separated shoulder.
BT, who lauds Randle's toughness, says he is finally starting to have doubts that the Knicks can get their All-Star back in time for the playoffs.
"I'm starting to get worried," BT said. "I'm starting to think Randle might not make it back.
"This has been an amazing Knicks season…as much as we've loved this renaissance, with Randle, time is ticking. He hasn't been cleared for contact."
BT initially saw Randle's injury as a potential silver lining to keep him fresh and heading into the playoffs healthy and without bumps and bruises. But now, time is running out, and he isn't sure Randle has time to get ready physically for the postseason, which casts serious doubt on New York's ability to make a deep playoff run.
"I thought for sure he was gonna be able to will his way back, BT said. "I'm less convinced of that today as I've ever been.
"Without Randle, I don't know how they get there."
