C-Mac: Jets quarterback room worst I've ever seen in NFL

After watching Tim Boyle, and then Trevor Siemian, lead the Jets to nowhere in Sunday’s loss to the Falcons, C-Mac can’t remember a worse quarterback room since he started watching the NFL.

“My God, are the Jets awful in every way,” C-Mac said. “The Jets are atrocious to watch because of one thing, and this season has tanked because of one thing: the Jets have the worst quarterback play you could possibly imagine a team having, and it’s everyone in the organization’s fault, from Woody on down.

“This the most important position arguably in all of sports…for team building purposes, there is nobody more important than the quarterback, and the Jets traded for Aaron Rodgers and said ‘to hell with every other aspect of this entire position.’”

It began with Zach Wilson, who the Jets benched last season but kept as the backup this season, and stuck with him as the starter for weeks after Rodgers went down. Gang Green’s offense couldn’t get anything going with Wilson leading the way, he was benched again, and the offense somehow got worse. Now, with the season all but over, C-Mac says the blame can be placed on an “atrocious” quarterback group, an inexcusable reality for a team many believed was a quarterback away from being contenders.

“Zach Wilson, a guy they deemed not good enough to play…instead, they allowed him to be the guy four plays in,” C-Mac said. “This is the worst quarterback room I could ever possibly imagine in the NFL.

“[Joe Douglas] allowed the most important position in sports to be the worst I’ve seen on any roster in the history of the NFL.”
