Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla was asked about the free throw disparity between the Knicks and Boston on Monday night, and Mazzulla made it clear that he wasn't too happy with the officiating on that front.
"How do I say this without getting in trouble?" Mazzulla said.
Boston took just 14 foul shots compared to 34 for the Knicks, a similar disparity as their win over the 76ers on Saturday. In that game, the Celtics took just 12 foul shots compared to 35 for Philadelphia, but Mazzulla said after that game that he felt the stark difference was a result of Boston committing a lot of fouls.
As for Monday's game, Mazzulla didn't hide the fact that he did not feel the same way as he did on Saturday.
"It wasn't the same as the Philly game," Mazzulla said.
The Celtics as a whole didn't seem happy with the officiating on Monday.
Jayson Tatum was ejected after being whistled for his second technical foul late in the fourth quarter, jawing with an official after he felt he was fouled on a 3-point attempt on the previous possession.
