How well can an Oak Tree move across the ballroom floor?

Not well, if Dancing with the Stars is any indication, because on Tuesday night, Charles Oakley became the first contestant eliminated from Season 29 of the ABC competition.

Oakley, who was paired with Emma Slater – Rashad Jennings’ partner when the former Giants back won Season 24 of DWTS – performed a rumba to 50 Cent’s “In Da Club” in Week 1, earning a score of 4 from all three judges. The former Knicks enforcer improved in Week 2, earning fives across the board for his Cha-Cha-Cha to Luther Vandross’ “Never Too Much,” but that still tied for lowest score of the night, and his two-week combined score of 27 still put Oak in the bottom two with Tiger King star Carole Baskin.

The three judges then get a say as to which celebrity in the bottom two stays and which goes, and only Bruno Tonioli chose to save Oakley, so he was eliminated.

Oakley’s ouster leaves only two ex-athletes in contention: former NFL tight end Vernon Davis – who is paired with Peta Murgatroyd, the Season 14 champion with former wideout Donald Driver, and also ex-partner of Metta World Peace, Michael Sam, and Lamar Odom – and three-time U.S. Men’s Figure Skating Champion Johnny Weir, who is dancing with first-time pro Britt Stewart.
