Baseball United, a new baseball league based out of Dubai, held its first-ever draft on Monday morning, and some notable names were selected in the first round.

Former Yankee shortstop Didi Gregorius was taken third overall by the Dubai Wolves, and three picks later, the Wolves took another former Yankee middle infielder in Robinson Cano, now 40 years.

In the second round, the Monarchs took Bartolo Colon, who will be pitching at the ripe age of 50.

Baseball United is “the first-ever professional baseball league created to serve the Middle East and South Asia,” and Colon, Gregorius, and Cano will be among the former major leaguers taking part in the inaugural season.

Gregorius and Cano were already introduced by the Wolves, in uniform and ready to continue their baseball careers.

On Nov. 24, Baseball United will host its inaugural showcase, which will feature two All-Star teams playing two games at Dubai International Stadium.
