Evan: Aaron Judge was like Michael Jordan silencing haters with 'badass' home run

Evan Roberts didn’t have a rooting interest in Tuesday’s Yankees/Blue Jays game, but as an objective observer, given the controversy and bad blood surrounding the two teams, and how the game unfolded, it was as good as it gets.

“That was, pound for pound, one of the most entertaining games you’ll ever see,” Evan said.

The highlight was Aaron Judge, who blasted a go-ahead home run in the eighth inning to silence the Blue Jays fans that had been chanting “cheater” at him throughout the game following Judge’s controversial side-eye stares during Monday’s series opener. Judge pointed to the fans in right field that were making those chants, then appeared to cover his eyes as he crossed home plate in a nod to the drama surrounding where he was looking the night before.

For Evan, it doesn’t get more “badass” than that.

“If you didn't get goosebumps from that bomb of a home run that essentially won the game for the Yankees, what's wrong with you?” Evan said.  “He's got the crowd in right field the entire night calling him a cheater. The Yankees as a team are facing adversity, and he comes up to the plate and he took their soul like that, that's a baller move. That's a superstar move. That's a Michael Jordan move.”

Judge has been clutch like MJ this season, none bigger than Tuesday’s two-run blast, which broke the maple leaf sign high above the wall in dead center field.

“Aaron Judge has 11 home runs this year, six of them have come to give the New York Yankees a lead. Six of them!” Evan said. “And obviously I don't say this as a Yankee fan, I say this as an observer: that was such a badass win.”
