Carton and Roberts discussed the potential of Ryan Tannehill being the next Jets quarterback, and while Craig didn’t seem too thrilled about the idea, Evan brought some perspective to the debate.

Mainly, that Tannehill has actually been the superior quarterback over Derek Carr, who many consider to be a top target for New York.

“Ryan Tannehill has been better than Derek Carr,” Evan said. “Over the last three or four years, Ryan Tannehill has been better.”

Evan acknowledges Tannehill’s failures in the postseason, but he enjoyed multiple years of premier performance with the Titans, earning a Pro Bowl selection and even guiding them to the top seed in the AFC during his tenure there. So, if he does indeed become available, the Jets could do a lot worse.

“Don’t mistake that with ‘I love the guy’…but I think we are greatly underrating him,” Evan said. “We’re treating him like a piece of crap. He’s not. He’s closer to Derek Carr than maybe I even realize, and based on the last three years, he’s better.”
