Former Mets acting general manager Zack Scott was found not guilty of both driving while intoxicated and driving while ability impaired by alcohol in White Plains city court on Thursday morning.
Scott, who was placed on administrative leave by the Mets after he was arrested at 4 a.m. on Aug. 31 in White Plains, several hours after he attended an event at team owner Steve Cohen’s home in Connecticut. Scott pleaded not guilty to the charges, but was still let go by the Mets in November before the team hired Billy Eppler as the new general manager.

According to Anthony Rieber of Newsday, Scott’s penalties include two tickets with a $100.00 fine for each.
“I am thankful for today’s verdict,” Scott said in a statement. “Nonetheless, I regret choices I made on Aug. 31 resulting in circumstances that led to my arrest.
Scott also went on to thank the Mets after his time as interim general manager lasted less than a year, though reports indicated that he would have been strongly considered for the full-time role before he was placed on leave.
“Professionally, I’m grateful to Sandy Alderson for the opportunity to lead baseball operations for the Mets and wish my former teammates nothing but the best going forward.”
