Kenny Golladay sounds off on playing time: 'I should be playing regardless'

Kenny Golladay, the Giants’ $72 million receiver played just two snaps during New York’s win over the Panthers in Sunday’s home opener, and Golladay clearly doesn’t agree with the team’s deployment of him in the early going.

“I should be playing regardless,” Golladay told reporters on Wednesday.

Asked about the team’s decision to use other receivers more heavily through the first two games, Golladay said it was an “agree to disagree” situation, and he finds it “a little confusing” that the coaches have provided positive feedback but he continues to not see playing time.

“I don’t really have a choice,” Golladay said. “Like I said, I don’t agree with it.

“I'm preparing like I'm going to be playing, but who knows. The GM, head coach, all these coaches keep saying 'you do everything right, you handle yourself the right way'. It's a little confusing.”

Golladay was a big disappointment for the Giants last season after signing his big contract, logging just 521 receiving yards in 14 games, and has just two targets so far this season.

At this point, would Golladay prefer to be traded?

“We’re not gonna get into all that right now,” Golladay said. “We’re gonna go into Week 3. We’ve got a lot of football left.”
