Justin Turner, soon to be 38 years old, will be a free agent if the Dodgers don’t pick up his option, and while his best years are behind him, he could still provide some value after being an All-Star just a year ago.

Could the Mets be one of those teams that sees value in the veteran third baseman, and orchestrate a reunion with the infielder they parted with in 2013 after four lackluster seasons in New York?

Turner would be open to it.

After accepting the prestigious Roberto Clemente Award, Turner told Mike Puma of the New York Post that he “didn’t hate the idea” of returning to Queens to finish out his career.

Turner blossomed into an All-Star after the Mets parted ways with him, winning a World Series title with the Dodgers in 2020. Last year, he hit .278 with 13 home runs in 128 games.
