Luis Severino continues to look sharp in spring training, and Keith wouldn't be surprised if the former Yankee has a big year in his debut campaign with the Mets.
"When he's healthy, when he's right, he's a dog," Keith said. "He was supposed to be the Yankees ace once upon a time. He wasn't healthy. It didn't work out on the other side of town, but I'm rooting for the guy.
"I think he's out for redemption. He's got the beard going and the beard swag."
Severino could have been tipping pitches last season, when he pitched to an ERA of nearly 7.00, and Keith says as long as that has been addressed, and he can stay healthy, the Mets could have a new ace in 2024.
"I think he's gotten right now," Keith said. "You can look forward to bearded Sevy getting back to being a dog."
