Cam Reddish had finally found some more consistent playing time with the Knicks, but it appears he could be out for awhile.
Head coach Tom Thibodeau told reporters at Wednesday's shootaround that Reddish has been sent back to New York to be reevaluated for his right shoulder sprain, which he suffered in Monday night's win over the Kings when he fell on the shoulder after blocking a shot.
Reddish was helped into the locker room after the injury and was ruled out for Wednesday's game on Tuesday with the injury listed as a sprain. But now that Reddish has left the team for further testing, the Knicks could be worried that the injury is worse than the initial diagnosis.
Another New York youngster in rookie Quentin Grimes remains out due to a subluxation of his right patella, and the guard said he has been sprinting and changing direction in his workouts, but has yet to start taking contact. The former first-round pick suffered the injury on Feb. 25, and the team said he would be reevaluated in two weeks.
Mitchell Robinson, who left Tuesday's win early on due to a non-COVID illness, is a game-time decision for Wednesday night's game against the Mavericks.
