The NBA Draft is just days away, and while the Knicks will be focused on their future in terms of acquiring young talent with their two first-round picks, they also reportedly have kept an eye on the free agent pool.

According to Ian Begley of SNY, New York is interested in both DeMar DeRozan and Spencer Dinwiddie as potential unrestricted free agent additions, with either being a potential option depending on how the Draft shakes out or if certain players, most notably Damian Lillard, becomes available via trade.

Dinwiddie, who made a name for himself among Knicks fans for his consistent trolling of the team and fanbase, played in just three games for the Nets last season before tearing his ACL. The season before, he had a breakout year by scoring a career-high 20.6 points and shooting 48.5 percent from the floor. He shot 30.8 percent from three on just over six attempts per game.

DeRozan is a four-time All-Star, though the soon-to-be 32-year-old hasn’t been selected since the 2017-18 season. He played in 61 games last year and shot 51.5 percent from the field while averaging 21.6 points per game, the eighth year in a row that he averaged at least 20 points per contest. He also dished out a career-high 6.9 assists per game, though he isn’t known for his 3-point shot, hitting just 25.7 percent of his triple attempts last year and 28 percent for his career.

Per Begley, the Knicks would pursue DeRozan as a complimentary piece to Lillard if the superstar point guard is attainable via trade.
