The Knicks will be without their starting center for at least the next week.
The team announced Saturday that Mitchell Robinson is out for the second half of a back-to-back against the Celtics with a sprained right knee, and will be re-evaluated in 7-10 days.
Robinson left Friday's game against the 76ers with what the Knicks announced as knee soreness and did not return.
Robinson, who signed his contract extension this past offseason, is averaging 6.5 points and 6.4 rebounds per game this season, shooting 70 percent from the field.
In Robinson's absence, Isiah Hartenstein could see starting minutes, and Jericho Sims will likely see more action after being mainly a non-factor through the first seven games of the season. Tom Thibodeau could also elect to try a smaller frontcourt with Obi Toppin and Julius Randle, a pairing that paid immediate dividends when it was tried out in Friday's comeback win.
