It was another rough night for Alec Burks on Thursday, as his second tenure with the Knicks continues to be a disappointment in the early going.
Burks, acquired from the Pistons just before the trade deadline, shot 2-for-6 from the field in 11 minutes of action in the loss to the Warriors, and is shooting just 31.6 percent from the floor since putting back on a Knicks uniform.
The struggles of Burks has left fans lamenting the acquisition, but Tom Thibodeau seems to want to get more Burks minutes.
“If you look at his net rating,” Thibodeau said. “Again tonight, I probably should have played him more minutes tonight. He’s a plus when he’s on the floor. Good things are happening. So just keep working.”
Burks was a +6 on the night, a stat that Thibodeau covets when analyzing a player. Fans clearly disagree, as many responded by ripping the head coach for wanting more Burks, especially after he pulled an efficient Miles Mcbride over Burks in the fourth quarter of Thursday’s loss to Golden State, the team’s seventh loss in its last nine games.
