Carlos Correa after Twins deal becomes official: 'I believed…God will put me in the right place'

Carlos Correa's deal with the Twins was made official on Wednesday morning, and shortly after, Correa himself commented on returning to Minnesota.

"Wow, what a journey it's been," Correa said on his Instagram. "A lot of emotions involved throughout the whole process, but always believed at the end of the day God will put me in the right place."

Correa was reportedly prioritizing the Mets, who swooped in on the star shortstop with a $315 million agreement after his deal with the Giants fell apart, but after weeks of negotiating, Correa elected to sign with the Twins, who offered over $40 million more in guaranteed money despite multiple teams expressing concern over his surgically repaired right leg.

Correa, close friends with Francisco Lindor, was set to move to third base to play alongside Lindor, but after New York followed San Francisco's lead upon seeing the results of his physical, Correa will instead return to where he played in 2022, leaving the Mets still searching for a middle-of-the-lineup bat.
