Taijuan Walker was fined an undisclosed amount for his part in Wednesday's benches-clearing altercation with the Cardinals, and Mets fans apparently immediately came to his (financial) aid.
The Mets starter, just days away from making his return from injury, suggested on Twitter than fans had been making Venmo payments to him to help pay off the fine issued by the league.
"Man, Mets fans are the best!" Walker tweeted. Y'all don't have to send me any Venmo's. Just know ima always ride my team no matter what!"
Walker also added that he was going to give away some tickets for Saturday's game against the Phillies.
Fellow pitcher Yoan Lopez, who threw the high-and-tight pitch to Nolan Arenado that sparked the benches to empty, was also fined.
