The Mets have been turned away by multiple hopeful candidates for their president of baseball operations position, and have now reportedly turned their attention towards their next general manager.
According to SNY’s Andy Martino, New York team president Sandy Alderson has been seeking permission to interview candidates for the GM position, currently held by interim general manager Zack Scott, who is awaiting trial on Dec. 8 for a DUI charge.

Per Martino, Alderson’s wish list includes Red Sox assistant general manager Raquel Ferreira and Twins assistant GM Daniel Adler. Dodgers assistant GM Jeff Kingston was also on that list, but he will be remaining in Los Angeles.
Ferreira was promoted to her current position in Boston in December of 2019, and has been with the Red Sox for more than two decades. She is the fourth female to hold the title of assistant GM in Major League Baseball, joining a list that includes Jean Afterman of the Yankees and Kim Ng of the Marlins.

Adler has been with Minnesota since 2017, and was promoted to his current position in November of 2019, shortly after the Twins enjoyed a 101-win season.
