Shortly after Mika Zibanejad and the Rangers mopped up the Capitals in a 4-1 drubbing, another mopping was needed in section 120, row 8 of Madison Square Garden.
While Zibanejad was speaking with reporters after New York's convincing victory on Thursday night, he was cut off mid-sentence by an announcement over the PA system, where an arena employee requested a mop for cleanup.
"These are big games," Zibanejad said before the announcement blared over the speakers asking for a mop, cutting off Zibanejad's response.
"Anybody else gonna take that?" Zibanejad laughed after the announcement was over.
It was all laughs and smiles for Zibanejad and the Rangers after Thursday's win, a revenge victory against a Washington team that smacked New York around in a 5-1 win on opening night, the last time the two teams squared off before Thursday night.
