NBA honors late Kentucky guard Terrence Clarke with honorary selection in 2021 Draft

University of Kentucky guard Terrence Clarke was projected as a potential lottery pick before his lone season with the Wildcats, and even after only playing a handful of games, he declared for the 2021 Draft and was seen as a likely first-round pick.

Clarke was tragically killed in a car crash in the Los Angeles area in April, but he will forever be a part of the NBA family.

Following the 14th and final pick of the lottery portion of the 2021 NBA Draft, NBA Commissioner Adam Silver memorialized Clarke, who was perhaps the best basketball prospect to come out of the Boston area in quite some time.

Silver then introduced Clarke's mother, Osmine, his sister Tatyana, and his brother Gavin, and uttered the words "with the next pick in the 2021 NBA Draft, the NBA selects Terrence Clarke, University of Kentucky."

Clarke's family, visibly emotional, then walked on stage and each took one of the official draft night hats with the NBA logo. Silver embraced Osmine, and then posed with the family for a photo as the crowd at Barclays Center chanted Terrence's name.

Check out the whole emotional scene below.
