Craig: Nets failure is 'biggest debacle in the history of the NBA'

Evan opened Thursday's show wallowing in pity over the destruction of his Nets, who have now traded away each leg of their superstar tripod, with Kevin Durant being the last to go early Thursday morning.

Craig had a slightly different tone.

"I love it. I can't get enough of it," Craig said.

"In the last 24 hours, and really to be fair, in the last four days, all those front-running, weasel Net fans, who claimed, 'I've always been a Nets fan, it's about the borough. It's about my love for Brooklyn. I've never liked the Knicks.' They're all gone…for all you front runners who decided to turn your back on the New York Knicks, and I get that we've been a joke for a quarter century, but where are you now? You're men and women without a home, without a team. But know this: at least you still have Ben Simmons."

All that aside, Craig does objectively believe that the Nets' superteam resulting in one playoff series win and three trade requests will go down as the biggest failure the league has ever seen.

"It is the biggest debacle in the history of the NBA from a standpoint of collection of absolute talent," Craig said. "There was a moment, a short moment, where the Brooklyn Nets had three of the top 10 players in the league.

"They didn't play a lot of games together, unfortunately for Nets fans, and how quickly it went from 'We are the beasts of the East,' and 'We have the best shot to go to an NBA championship,' to having none of them left."
