NYCFC, last year’s MLS champions, are moving out of Yankee Stadium and will be right next door to the Mets in Queens.

The club, via vice chairman Marty Edelman (Craig’s uncle!) and city councilman Francisco Moya, confirmed the news on Carton and Roberts on Wednesday, explaining the plans for the 25,000-seat stadium that will be built right next to Citi Field.

As Edelman also explained to Craig and Evan, the stadium plans are accompanied with a plan to build thousands of units of affordable housing in the neighborhood.

The stadium will be specific to soccer, giving NYCFC a permanent home after playing in the Bronx since it became an MLS team in 2015.

The stadium cost, nearly $800 million, will be paid in full by NYCFC, according to NBC New York, and will be ready by 2027.
