Gerard Gallant sounds off on hits on Igor Shesterkin, will be talking to league

The Lightning are back in the series with a 3-2 comeback win over the Rangers in Sunday's game three, but Blueshirts head coach Gerard Gallant didn't care for the manner in which Tampa Bay kicked up the pressure in a must-win game.

Specifically, the way the Lightning crashed the net at Igor Shesterkin.

Gallant's star goaltender was hit multiple times in the crease on Sunday afternoon, once in the facemask from the stick of Corey Perry, who was sent to the box after Shesterkin seemed to sell the hit just a bit when he went flailing backward and lost his stick. Riley Nash bumped Shesterkin shortly after and received a penalty as well.

Gallant was also unhappy after Shesterkin was hit during the Penguins series, and once again, he doesn't like what he sees when it comes to the action in front of his netminder, and he will be speaking to the league about it.

"It doesn't faze him," Gallant said. "It fazes me more than it fazes him.

"I don't like it, I don't think it's a big part of it. Hopefully when we talk to the supervisor tomorrow, they'll care of some of that because it wasn't right."
