Rangers head coach Gerard Gallant told reporters on Sunday that he would be talking to the league about the bumps to goaltender Igor Shesterkin in New York's game three loss to the Lightning.
But much of NHL Twitter believes some of that contact was just more of Shesterkin's flopping displays.
Shesterkin took a stick to the facemask from Corey Perry and immediately flung backwards while hurling his stick up in the air, grabbing at his face while Perry threw a hand up in disbelief. To Shesterkin's credit, the act worked, as Perry was sent to the box for a slashing minor, but many on social media believed Shesterkin deserved an embellishment call.
Many also pointed out that it was far from the first time Shesterkin has sold a hit a little too purposefully:
